Cannot Get SAP Crystal Reports SP1 2013 to Run!

Hi,

I have just purchased CR 2013 and can't get it to run after installation!

I am getting an error "The application was aunable to start correctly (0xc0150002)."

Looking at the event log it is listed as a "SidebySide" error:

Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86\fssl-1-2-1-6.dll".Error in manifest or policy file "" on line . A component version required by the application conflicts with another component version already active. Conflicting components are:. Component 1: C:\Windows\WinSxS\manifests\x86_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.762_none_10b2f55f9bffb8f8.manifest. Component 2: C:\Windows\WinSxS\manifests\x86_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.6195_none_d09154e044272b9a.manifest.

I think it relates to my installation of the Visual C++ Redistributable 2005, where i did have two versions installed, got rid of one, even tried to edit it in the registry, with no luck.

Can anyone help?!

Cause

This error occurs when Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package is installed but the security update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package is not applied.

Resolution

1. Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package security update from Microsoft Download Center
2. Install the downloaded security update vcredist_x86.exe
3. Restart the machine
4. Launch Crystal Reports 2011
