I have an issue with SWW_WI2OBJ. Please suggest

Hello experts.

i have an issue with this table SWW_WI2OBJ. In a workflow only for certain materials, when ever there is change in material description there are entries maintaind in SWW_WI2OBJ, But for some of the materials the entries are not.

Could you guys help me out with this and how this table related to workflows and update the entries..

Hi,

  Hmm, Can I assume that this is a problem because you are trying to read directly from these tables, rather than using a WAPI?

WAPIs hide all these messy table details from you, the application programmer.

So no need to figure out what is going on - just change/simplify your approach!

Thats okay. but its already developemed, now facing issues with it. I cannot go for a new approach now. Need to fix the existing one.

Hi,

This is a case of 'reculer pour mieux sauter', as the French say. You need to take a step back to make progress.

Reconsider the approach, switch to WAPIs, and all your problems will be fixed.

If the existing development is reading directly from the tables then you have inherited a poorly written program and it is your job to fix it properly, not apply a plaster and wait for it to fail again. 80% of software costs are in the maintenance.
