Hi Techies.
I have created a universe with 30 - 40 objects, I have developed the reports on the base of this universe.
and I have saved the reports.
For some reasons , I have hided the objects from that universe(Now the objects visible in the universe is 20 only) .
Now my Question is that will this hiding of columns of any impact in the reports that I have saved.
Hi,
Hiding objects can affect the existing reports if the objects are already used in their queries.
You might get errors like "objects are unavailable".
You may try it by using an object in report and then hiding it in the universe.
I would suggest an impact analysis before hiding objects.
You can also try keeping AUTO_UPDATE_QUERY parameter as Yes.
The description is as follows:
Values Yes|No
Default Yes
Description Determines what happens when an object in a query is
not available to a user profile.
Yes: Query is updated and the object is removed from
the query.
No: Object is kept in the query
Best way to go ahead would be to test it yourself in Dev environment.
Regards,
Yuvraj

Hi
Hiding the object in the universe, it’s not effect in the report’s.
If you hid objects in the universe and export and when you create a new report using WEBI on this universe you can not see the hidden objects.
