Task Gateway Service confusion

Hi,

Since SAP NW Gateway SP07, there appear to exist two different versions of the Task Gateway Service. Version 1 and Version 2.

While the SAP Help Portal documents the capabilities of each version, what it doesn't tell you is whether you can have both versions active at the same time.

Suppose you want to support both the SAP Fiori Approve Requests app (which appears to depend on version 1), but at the same time you want to use the Unified Inbox in the portal (which appears to depend on version 2 of the Task Gateway service), can we just define two different endpoints, one for version 1, one for version 2 in order to support both scenarios ? Is  this a supported configuration or would there be technical issues with such a configuration ?

Hi Theo,

You can activate 2 OData service entries, version 1 and version 2.

Do you have any runtime issue?

Hi Masa,

Thanks for the feedback. Yes, I was expecting/hoping that would be the answer.

We are not facing a runtime issue at the moment. I was just analyzing my options.
