Movement Type 321 using MIGO

Gurus,

We have a Material which is having Quality inspection activated.

Creating a purchase order and performing migo, the whole stock went to quality.

As per the business requirement, users need to do transfer posting for fraction of its stock directly through movement type 321(quality to unrestricted) in MIGO without result recording.

Users do not want to deactivate the Quality inspection on Material, but want to just move fraction of stock directly to unrestricted as in some cases, they cannot hold the production line for Quality approval.

Need your guidance, how can this be achieved through standard SAP,

Please help.

Hi Chintan, If If have understood it correctly you have inwarded say 100 quantity against some PO. As the inspection type was active at the time of GR, system created an inspection lot of 100 Qty and posted the stock in to QI. Now you want to release the partial quantity in to unrestricted without result recording considering production urgency.

You can do so in QA32! Select the inspection lot and click on UD directly. Go to stock posting tab and place required quantity in to unrestricted use. Save it without giving UD. It will execute 321 movement in background posting stock to unrestricted. If the lot exists you can not transfer through 321 using MIGO.

Later you can carry out result recording (which should be done!) but before UD!

Hi,

Result recording, Usage decision and stock posting are three different transactions and generally can be carried out in any order based on your settings. However, to carry out stock posting, you do not need to do result recording first (though there are settings to prevent this).

Pl follow what Anand has suggested. You have to adopt QM transaction to achieve this or else it can;t be done via MIGO.

You can do one thing -

1) In material master-quality management view you have the option to post the stock in unrestricted use then you can not select this tick. So in that case all stock goes to unrestricted but at the same time you can do result recording.

If i will able to find some other thing then i will share it with you

We understand that this is standard process but, in other words, I would say that for fraction of stock in certain cases, we want to "bypass" quality inspection to start the production in-line.

Standard SAP (Even standard business process) will not allow that.

Hi,

Material having Quality inspection activated,created  purchase order, performed GR with MIGO, the whole stock is now in quality stock and now you can go for followings:

1.Use t.code: QA32 ,select inspection lot, click  "Results"  and enter result value to accept and save.
2.Again use t.code:QA32 , click "Usage decision (UD)", enter quantities to be accepted and save.

After all above steps, you can see your material stock was in quality inspection and now available in unrestricted stock for your use.

As of my knowledge, if Quality inspection is activated for the material in material master. Then you can't do transfer posting (321) after posting MIGO - QI stock.

You can do this movement type only when either QI is not activated for material master or may be after posting quality approval.

In your case, you have to do quality approval first to post the stock into unrestricted.
