Hi Folks,
Anyone happen to know how Informatica performs on SAP HANA compared to SAP Data Services? In DS 4.2 it's noted that DS pushdown operations can create intermediate calculation views on HANA for better performance. Can Informatica do the same thing, or does DS have an edge here?
Appreciate anyone's insight!
Thanks
Ron
I don't have any empirical data here but DS can do parallel loads, big batches and some other optimizations. If your thing is huge bulk loads then DS is optimized and can near the bulk load capacity of the HANA DB. Plus, it can manage the delta merge process for you for huge loads.
However in most cases the Database server is not the bottleneck, the ETL that happens within the Job Server is the limiting factor. In this case things will be much more equal.
Of course in the future we expect to see transformations happening in the HANA DB. This will totally change the picture once more.
