SMP 3.0 - Agentry Security in Mobile VPN setup

Hi,

We are implementing the SMP 3.0 and SAP WorkManager on AWS cloud server. For securing the device connecting to the SMP server, Mobile VPN solution is considered.

If Mobile VPN connection is established from device to the SMP cloud server we want to understand from recommended Architecture perspective on below points.

• Is NGINX reverse proxy still be required?
• If NGINX reverse proxy required do we need to have https setup?

NGINX isn't required in the setup of Agentry for SMP 3 at all.  It is something you can use to manage the connections between client and server if you don't want ( or can't) connect to the SMP server directly.

User the VPN and clients can connect to the server directly there then isn't a need for Nginx, unless you want to keep there there increase you have more then one SMP Server later and you use it for Load balancing.
