Mail Sender Adapter

Hi All,

Scenario  - Mail To File .

Vendor is dropping attachemnts in Mailbox ( XML + PDF )/ XML/ PDF. PI picks up the attachments.

Bot the message is giving system error in adapter engine. Surprisingly, It is successful in quality but failing in

Production.  So cannot say its a data Issue. And in production, not all messages are failing. Few  messages say 30 out of 100 are failing.

XML file coming in inbox like this . THis is succesful in quality but failed in production.

Mail adapter is using below parameters :

Hi Kanisha Sharma,

I have a requirement where PI has to pick the .PDF files from mail and place them on FTP (No data conversion is required).

Could you please help me how to configure the sender Mail and receiver File adapter respectively?

It works on .xml files, however i need to pick the .PDF files and push them to FTP, no data conversion is required.

Hi Rams,

Did you try testing with this parameter:

attachment;filename="MailAttachment-1.PDF"

instead of .xml

So sending the exact same attachment to production and QA is giving different result consistently? (e.g. given sample attachment always fails in prod but always succeeds in QA).

Hi All,

There was a procedure to test in quality. We fwd mails from one mailbox to some testmailbox. Messages are not failing. But yesterday, when Vendor directly sending mail to Test mailbox, It is failing in quality as well now. It means now we are able to see error in adapter engine as system errors.

PI version is PI 7.1.

Hi Kanisha,

What is your PI version?, in PI 7.0 there is a known error produced with long names that generated the same exception. If Im right, check this note with your basis team  940462 - xi mail adapter sends message attributes that are too long
