Bapi to create project version or create a project version automatically as soon as project get released

Hi Experts,

My client requirement is to create a project version as soon as project status changes to released .

Can u please help me with bapi which will work same as CN72.Or any other way so that version get automatically created after project release.

Hi Suraj,

Check with transaction code OPTS whether version profile defined or not; if defined then check in Project profile that same is assigned in Control tab or not.

Above both answers NO then you have to define & assign.

I tryied the same but failed to create it automatically,

I have created version profile

Assigned to control of project profile

Created a project with same project profile and then released the project but no version got created.

Am i doing something wrong.

Hi Suraj,

You just define Profile, maintain the system status for the defined profile.

For this select profile -> then select System status in Dialog structure.

Same is show in previous screen shot.

Hi Suraj,

No need to use BAPI for it. You can achieve it through std. 'Progress version' customizing.Just maintain system status 'REL' for te respective version profile and maintain the profile in project profile.
