Rahul Chitte
Hello Rahul
As you know it is significant change since it requires touching or updating the building blocks of demand planning solution. Following are the things which comes to my mind - (these are other than expert Mariano's input, one point which is related RSD1 - do not forget to activate the characteristic in RSD1)
1. First and most important Backing up your Planning Area and make sure restore of data works with 100% accuracy. - Please test this first in Dev system.
2. Delete the time series(/SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_DE_INITIALIZE)
3. Run /SAPAPO/TS_PSTRU_CONTENT_DEL - To delete Contents from MPOS. It will delete all the CVCs.
4. Add new Characteristic or remove navigational attribute and add that as a characteristic.
5. Add 1 or 2 CVCs to your MPOS
6. Create Time Series using /SAPAPO/TS_PAREA_INITIALIZE and Run Adjust Time Series using /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_PLOB_DELTA_SYNC
7. Create the CVCs based on backup cube or using sales history cube whichever works for you.
8. Restore the backup data into planning area.
9. During the process at critical time, please do check consistency check for MPOS using /SAPAPO/TS_PSTRU_CONS_CHECK and Consistency Check for Planning Area using /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_CONS_CHECK
Please give a try first in your development system. Try to be cautious with every action.
If any issues during the process, you can always approach SCN experts ...Good Luck
Hope this will help.
Thank you

Hi Rhaul,
You will need to create the new characteristic in RSD1 and make all the setup in RSA1 (Data Source). Anyway, this is the same that you do for all your characteristics.
The more critical part is that if you want to create a new characteristic and add this new characteristic into your POS (Planning Object structure), then you will need to deactivate the POS. It allows us to add the characteristic.
Thanks and Regards,
Mariano
