How to add new value in Classification under General tab via MM02.

Hello Experts,

I've a requirement where I need to add a new material variant configuration value via MM02 as highlighted below. I've also attached the screen shot of CL02, the two characteristics which I need to add (highlighted in red).

Can please anybody tell me the steps to add value in Classification under General tab via MM02.

Use transaction CL02 , open class in PCL_222_PURO_BOX with class type 300

add characterstic

PCH_COSTING_WGT_DETERM

PCH_COSTING_WGT_A_DETERM

save it.

Now use MM02 and go to classification view , now you would be able to see these characterstic there.

Check and come back.

I followed all the above steps you've mentioned but when I compare MM03 and CL02 then I still don't see variant config values. Please advise.

You have referred a different class in CL02.

I can see different class is used for material class.

If you want to add these two characteristics for class type variant, then you have to assign the characteristics to the class PCL_222_PURO_BOX. Then you can able to see the characteristics in MM02.

Actually it doesn't matter I have issue with both 414 and 222.

Actually I resolved the issue by un-checking the following box within CT04.

It appears that Characteristics are not allowed in the Class Itself. You need to first assign the characteristics to the class before they  are visible under material  master selection.
