Web Dynpro OfficeControl

I tried using Web Dynpro OfficeControl to open a MS Word .doc file and

it worked fine, but when I tried to do the same with a .docx file (MS Word Open Xml file)

or for that matter even a simple .txt file , it did not work!

Is the OfficeContol strictly ristricted to .doc file? If yes, is there a workaround for this

problem?

Hi ,

It allows you to display the following Office documents in a Web Dynpro application:

Microsoft Word documents

Microsoft Excel documents

No, it does not display all types of Microsoft Word documents. For instance, docx (Word Open Xml) document is not displayed. This is the problem I am facing right now: reading and displaying open xml document.

Hi A H,

As per my knowledge it only supports .DOC & .XLS files.
