I've been struggling to create an IDAT that creates a Reason Code in ME 6.1.4. With Patch 21, we have a fix that enables this, but I had one last problem, which I will document here. I will probably stumble into this in the future, as may others.
I tried to load this IDAT, which is based on the template from Service Extension Maintenance:
and I got this error message from the Reload Initial Data action in Site Maintenance:
"attribute is missing (Message 12001)"
This seems very non-specific. Which attribute is it talking about?
The key is to realize that "attribute" is the specific name of an element in the XML. It makes sense that the <reasoncode:customData> element, if present, requires a non-empty attribute name.
I removed the <reasoncode:customData> element. Problem Solved! 🙂
Thank you for update, Barry!
Indeed, it is always better to remove all optional tags if they are not used to send any data.
Br, Alex.
