Do we need a sender channel for IDOC to file scenario.

Hi,

Do we need a sender channel in IDOC to FILE scenario.

Because IDOC is being sent by SAP R/3 System and when creating objects in ID using wizard, it doesn't ask for sender channel.

What is the reason for this?

Younus

Younus,

to add more...

From <b>WAS(Web Application Server) 6.20</b> and above BASIS is not the runtime for SAP.WAS is the runtime for SAP.

And it has got ABAP and JAVA engine in it.

It handles connections made over various protocols such as SMTP for mail, HTTP(S), and SOAP/XML.

<b>

The SAP Web AS 6.10 did not have a Java engine.</b>

and IDOC and HTTP are present on the ABAP engine and the rest reside on JAVA engine.

and that is the reason why IDOC and HTTP doesnt require Sender Adapter and Sender Aggrement aswell.

Hope i cleared ur point...

Cheers,

Raghavesh

Hi Yunus,

As IDOC is a part of R/3 System you dont need to define a communication channel for that. The only thing you need to do is just to make an RFC destination at both sender side and sap xi. Rest of the thing will be done by XI

Hi All,

Thanks a lot friends.

Indeed your responses have been a lot helpful in solving the problem.

I'm back with one more question.

A xsd is referring another xsd or i can say multiple xsd's.

I mean the final xsd has nodes from other xsd's, apart from its own.

So when i start with the mapping in Stylus Studio, the final xsd comes with all the sub nodes.

But when i import it into XI it shows only the nodes belonging to it.

Please provide me the solution in detail.

If there is blog explaining all this, it would be higly appreciated.

Mainly I'm stuck with two things.

1. The referring process.

2. Importing the final xsd in XI.

Thanks in Advance.

Solution is simple

1. The referring process.

>> When you import the referenced XSD to XI copy and paste the File*: value into Source: for example Source: <b>ABCE.xsd</b>

2. Importing the final xsd in XI.

>> Once you do the above you can see all the references in the final XSD.

Hi Younus

>>Do we need a sender channel in IDOC to FILE scenario.

No required but you can create if you want

As you know that when you are sending IDOC from SAP R/3

We need to settings in SAP R/3 and XI (Like Rfc destination, port ,partner

profiles ....). SAP system have the capability to push the idoc to XI

SO not required any Sender Channel and Sender Agreement

HI,

No need of sender communication channel , because Idoc Adapter resides on Intgration Engine.

See the below links
