Dear Experts,
Not pretty sure whether this discussion is appropriate in this community or not but being a PI consultant thought of posting it here.
Client had a requirement of Integrating existing SAP ECC 6.0 with B1 system. Went through many posts which explained to use B1if for Integrating SAP ECC 6.0 with B1 system. But as SAP PI 7.11 already exists in the landscape, client is keen on plugging in SAP PI 7.11 as the Integration platform for ECC & B1.
Could someone kindly suggest will it be the best Integration design if we use PI for Integrating ECC & B1. I opine that using PI b/w ECC & B1 is like using PI b/w ECC & APO
Also, if PI is used b/w ECC & B1, will SAP support in case of any integration / fine tuning issues in this Integration.
Kindly suggest.
Br,
Saiganesh.
Got the below suggestion from SAP. Could be useful for someone.
B1if/B1iSN is the official integration platform for small and medium businesses using SAP Business One as ERP solution. B1iSN (SAP Business One Integration for SAP Netweaver) provides a bunch of preconfigured integration scenarios between ECC and B1.
Of course, you can reuse your PI system as main middleware and single hub to handle all related integration scenarios from/to ECC.
But to integrate towards B1, suggest the usage of an integration platform which was designed exactly for this purpose.
In many projects having PI as central integration middleware, following approach is followed:
ECC -> PI -> B1if/B1iSN -> B1
Messages between PI and B1if/B1iSN are interchanged as HTTPS calls in IDoc format. PI is routing the messages, B1i - installed on the B1 side - maps the IDoc format into specific B1 data interface format.
Closing the thread.
Br,
Saiganesh.

Hi,
Can you tell us what is B1 system?
Please elaborate whether it can consume/provide webservices or deals with File integration.
What kind of integration technologies are available?
SAP will support in case of any product line issues. But they wont support for any technical issues.
Thanks,
Kanda
