Customer hierarchy used in material determination

Hi all,

Our customer request is to use customer hierarchy (node) in material determination.

In material determination we use such key: customer/material; we can save entry for the node (from customer hierarchy) and material, but the system does not take it into account during sales order creation. Sold to party is correctly assigned to the node in hierarchy, IDOCs are also cofigured, but the system takes the information from material determination only for customers, not for the node (customer hierarchy).

Could you please help with this topic? Have you ever seen such solution? If so, please write what configuration or user exits are needed?

Dear Tom,

There could be two possibilities for not determining material during sales order processing.

Reason No 1: Standard SAP provides functionality which only works with customer and material combination. Though they have provided us the option to have any combination using customization. This is hold good with Free Goods Determination.

Reason No 2. If SAP support such functionality, then I assume in your Sales Order there is No "Hierarchy" assigned to Sales Order. Thus system is not able to identify the Hierarchy, hence system does not determine it.

In case if it does not support enhancing ( by doing configuring  as per business needs), then you have to look for alternative solution through exits.
