SFTP or File which is a better choice?

Hi,

If we need to pick up a file from a server there are 2 options.

1. File adapter(NFS/FTP)

2. SFTP

Which one is best and why?What added advantage/benefit do we get using SFTP adapter given that SFTP and File(FTP option) both uses User ID and Password for security.

At present we see increasing use of SFTP adapter. What is the reason behind that?

Which SFTP adapter is better Advantco/Third Party or the new SAP SFTP adapter?

I guess all do the same job.

advantco and third party adapters were used when SAP did not have SFTP. Now we have SFTP delivered by SAP. If you get the SAP's SFTP go for it.

For advantco and third parties adapter you have to buy it.

Hi,

NFS adapter is used to read the file from local PI directory.

FTP adapter is used to read the file from remote server directory.

SFTP means SSH File Transfer Protocol.

FTPs is nothing but FTP over SSH layer.
