Integrating & configuring with SAP PI 7.31 AEX

Hi Experts,

We have just now installed SAP PI 7.31 AEX (only java stack) in our landscape with an existing SAP R/3 4.7 and SAP CRM 4.7

Will it be problematic while integrating these all SAP systems in SAP PI 7.31 AEX server???

I have only worked upon with SAP PI Dual Stack servers. So I'm not aware of the activities like JCo RFC connections creation, Destination Configurations, etc in SAP PI Java stack. Please guide me on the same. I need post-installation steps for SAP PI 7.31 AEX server.

Also guide me on;

1. How to connect to SAP PI AEX's Repository (ABAP Proxy connections) from SAP ABAP systems,

2. RFC connections in SAP ABAP systems,

3. SLD Connections from SAP ABAP systems,

4. Integration Engine settings in SAP ABAP systems for SAP PI AEX,

5. Any other configs if we require.

Hi,

Since both R/3 and CRM systems are in lower versions, you cannot use proxy connections. However traditional integrations like RFC, IDoc is possible.

There wont be any issues in SLD connections.

Integration Engine settings will not be available in SAP ERP system.

Hi Experts,

Is it sure that we can't use Proxy/XI adapter in SAP PI 7.31 AEX to connect with SAP R/3 4.7 version?

Is this a reason which is why our SPROXY TCode from SAP R/3 4.7 server only showing local data???

Hi,

You can refer the below link:

If SAP WAS is >= 640, then you can use proxy, else you cannot use proxy.

Apart from ABAP Proxy Connectivity (Proxy/XI adapter), what are the other features of SAP PI 7.31 AEX which we cant use/utilize because of SAP R/3 4.7 (lower version of SAP) ???

This is because, then we can convince client to go for an upgrade in SAP R/3.

Please suggest/guide.

Hi Experts,

I need the help/guide on the steps to be followed in blank SAP PI 7.31 AEX server post-installation like RFC JCo provider configuration in NWA of SAP PI AEX, Destinations creation in NWA of SAP PI AEX, RFC connections (of type 3/H/G/T etc.) in SAP ABAP systems, Integration engine configuration in SAP ABAP systems, and SLD configuration in SAP PI AEX, etc.

What is order/flow of these steps? Which step comes after which other step?

Kindly guide me on this since I'm configuring PI single stack server 1st time.
