Saprouter - Host did not respond times

Former Member

Hello,

We have configured the saprouter with a VPN, the test connection in SM59 is OK.

When I try to start  "R/3 Support" in SAP Support Portal, the SAP Service Connector gives me the message: "The service connection has been opened successfully." but SAPRouter status does not get "connect", it keeps on "Host did not respond x times".

How can I find the problem? If the SAP Connector shows me "The service connection has been opened successfully."?

Regards

Hello!

Thanks everyone for the Support.

The problem was really in the Firewall. SAP Requests didn´t hit our SAPRouter.

The issue was solved by correcting the firewall rules.

I guess when we use VPN instead SNC, the configuration is a little more complicated.

We have 2 Routers and I had this issue (Host did not respond 1,2,3.. and goes on) for weeks and months with both the Routers, at last the problem was solved forever. Our organization had blocked traffic from other countries and when SAP tries to connect it would never let them in. So the network/firewall team has added SAP's IP in the exception and it was quick as well. So this problem is gone forever. Hope this helps to people like me who had issues.

Hi Richard,

Host did not respond x times

You need to define correct SAPRouter string while opening the remote connection to SAP.Router string should be exactly as like

/H/<Your Router IP>/S/3299/H/

and try to reconnect the service connection, this correct case of router string would resolve the issue as similar has been faced at our end.

Hi Richard

This could be problem with your VPN. Does VPN connectivity works continuously or it gets disconnected.

Hi,

Share the dev_rout log file and share the host entries under host file.If possible also share rout table entries.

Hi,

You should ask your network team to adjust firewall setting as per note  48243 - Integrating the SAProuter software into a firewall environment.

Saprouter send ping packets (icmp) which are blocked on your side.

Hi Richard,

Check routing permissions in routtab and connect from router to r3.

Refer 812732 - R/3 Support service connection

Hi Richard,

Have a look at the routers logs.

Check port 3299 is open and packet sizes are correct.
