SAP installation on LAPTOP requirements

Hi,

I am new in SAP ABAP development. I want to install the latest SAP software in my LAPTOP and following are configuration on my Laptop. I need to know if SAP will run smoothly or not.

1. HP 15-g009AX Notebook (APU Quad Core A8/ 4GB/ 1TB/ Free DOS/ 2GB Graph) (G8D85PA)

2. Processor : APU Quad Core A8

3. Variant : 6410

4. Brand : AMD

5. Clock Speed : 2 GHz with Turbo Boost Upto 2.4 GHz

6. Cache : 2 MB

7. 4 GB DDR3(1600 MHz)

8. 1 TB HDD

10. 1366 x 768 Pixels and 15.6" screen

9. 2 GB DDR3 AMD Radeon HD 8570M Graphics card

Planning to install Windows 7 or UBUNTU 10.

Can I install SAP on my Laptop?

Is it compatible with Windows VISTA or XP/Win 2000 is required?

Is it only compatible with NTFS formatted drive?

What kind of Bit configuration is required (32-bit or 64-bit)

Do I need to attach any external Hard Disk to use SAP?

What SAP version I can install - 4.7 or 6.40 or other?

Hi Aniruddha,

I can give you som helpful tips.

For compatibility and version you should goto service market place and check PAM.

That would answer if you can install SAP on your OS.

64/32 bits depends on your OS which actually depends on the underlying hardware.

32 bits have limitations in terms of addressing space. It cannot use you 4 gigs of RAM completely. So 64bit machine running 64 bits windows should be used.

Please do not use hard drives or external storage for installation. It makes no sense.

For PAM visit service.sap.com with a valid suser ID.

Now, installation ypu would be needing installation guide specific to product and OS/DB. That also you will get from market place.
