hi gurus, once i had been asked the question in interview about the one scenario that worked with idocs.so kindly send me the one scenario that sd guy works with idocs.
thanks in advance,
regards,ravisankar.p
The most common scenario where an idoc is used in SD is to create a Sales Order in SAP from the web. It can also be used for sending a PO from Client SAP to the OEM...Basically it can be used for passing data from from one system to another. the systems can be both SAP as well as SAP to Non SAP systems and Vice versa also.
reward points if it helps.

HI Reddy,
The business processes are represented as far as possible by the following procedure: Default settings and procedures will be described for both sending and receiving EDI messages. The processes can be tested in a system using the IDoc Interface Structure link test tool , by converting the outbound IDoc into an inbound IDoc. The important step in this procedure is switching the sender and the recipient in the control record. The generated IDocs can be viewed in the system using the IDoc Display function.
The Idoc are simple EDI files which are only understood or compactable with the SAP systems.
