Any experience of APO XL business addin ?

This new feature is now available. I guess this is coming from IBP-S&OP HANA developement that is actively using the XL integration. So it is now mad available for APO community for only planning book I believe.

I was told this is extracting data and places them into an Excel worksheet. What is then the difference with the former DUET option that was tricky and techy.

Have you experienced it ?

All these questions as I am interested by the EXCEL integration and invested in writing a full solution since 5 years, for APO and other SAP application.

Just trying to get it to work now.

Two key initial steps as per install guide at

http://help.sap.com/apodp_addin#section1

1. Get services hooked up in APO. Go to transaction SICF, press enter and find folder

Expand sap -> scmapo -> rest-> epm

fail. THis folder does not exist. we are on Enhancement pack 2.

So send to basis to try and find.

2. Load Excel addin as per guide

Now go to excel and I should see the demand planning ribbon.

Fail. No ribbon.

It will be a long day or week or month...

We are only on support pack 3 and need to be on 11 after the EP2, so need an upgrade.

Software still can't get to work in Excel. errors in addin screen in excel, so raised a note with SAP.

Got the excel to work on the second laptop tried.

See attached. Slightly different version of .NET tried and selected a different radio button when loaded.

and

.NET 4.3 worked but laptop with .NET 4.5.1 did not.
