SWPM Not Starting SAPInstGui

Former Member

Hi there,

I am trying to install SAP ERP 6 EHP 7 using the latest version of SWPM. File downloaded was SWPM10SP06_3-20009707.SAR

I have extracted the SAR file and execute SAPInst.exe. It runs showing the progress bar screen, and then disappears. I see that it has the icon in the system tray - if I double click that, then it shows the log. There are no errors, but for some reason it has just stopped.

I am running on Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit, on a domain.

Following is the log contents:

Program is starting... Please wait!

Any ideas why this would just stop and go no further? Any logs that I can look at to find the error?

Thanks

Hi David,

Can you check sapinst.log and sapinst_dev.log ?

Did you try to set JAVA_HOME for SWPM?

Regards,

I managed to get it working. I deleted the temp directory C:\Users\ADMINI~1\AppData\Local\Temp\2\ and restarted the installation and now it works.

Must have been an initial corrupt install or something.

Thanks for your help though.
