We have System A with newly upgraded to EHP7
SAP kernel 741_REL
DB Oracle 11.2.0.4
OS Linux RHEL 6.0
We have another System B with EHP6
SAP kernel 721_REL
DB Oracle 11.2.0.2
OS Linux RHEL 5.3
Now We want system B as a copy of A .We will upgrade OS and DB at a same level as System A has. So can we gonfor homogeneous system copy?
I am not understanding how we can get EHP7 on system B.
Or will SWPM(software provisioning manager) can do system copy with SAP component copy?
Please suggest
Hello All,
We have scraped our System B and cloned our system A on system B host.
we have now all mounts same as system A like /sapmnt/A and /oracle/A on system B.
Now we are going to use SWPM 1.0 with system Rename option.
will update you once it is done successfully.
Thank you.

Hi Spr,
Follow below steps
1) Upgrade OS from RHEL 5.3 to 6.0
2) Upgrade database from 11.2.0.2 to 11.2.0.4 including SBP similar to System A
3) Perform full backup of system A
4) Restore the backup to system B.
5) Perform post restore activities.

hi,
Please go for homogeneous system copy.
For this,
1. a)First DB export from System A using sapinst tool.
b) Stop System B
c) Upgrade OS and DB.
d) Import DB to System B using sapinst.
e) Run DB instance installation.

Sunny
