Can we use BO4 universe on BO XI 3.1

Hello,

We use BO XI 3.1, we acquired a new application with some basics reports delivered on BO4 universes. Could we use these universes on our BO XI 3.1 ?

In addition, i shall add that we still use BO XI 3.1 because we have not been able to migrate our reports (almost 80% of existing reports) build with "SQL à la carte" method  on BO4.

Abudul,

     You CAN NOT use BI 4.x saved Universes in XI 3.1.  BI 4.x Universe designer DOES NOT allow you to save as ver XI3.   Once you save upgrade the Universe and save with BI 4.x Designer, there is NO going back.

No migration tool will allow you migrate from BI 4.x to XI 3.1, it's NOT possible.

Hi,

I don't think so it is possible.If universe in in the BI 4.0 then only you can access that universe via BI 4.0 Launchpad only.

What is the way you are thinking to access the BO 4.0 universe in BO 3.1?

See attached SAP Note which is for Crystal reports compatibility.similar might be this approach will apply on the other components.
