Dear Experts,

Do I need to know ABAP programming to integrate Successfactors with HCM using PI?

Sucessfactors License Package comes with HCI or Dell Bhoomi

You can choose one of above to integrate SF either with HCI or Dell Bhoomi

ABAP programming doesnt come in to picture neither SAP PI doesnt come in to picture to integrate Sucessfactors.

SAP PI is used for integrating On Premise and not for cloud based Products Sucessfactors is cloud and not On Premise

My experience is, that the Integration Add-On in the backend won't work poperly without modifications.

Take a look at the simple scenario "Transfer Employee Profile data" from HCM to SF for example.

You can use the standard report RH_SFI_SYNCHRONIZE_EMPL_DATA and change the content of every field using the variant.

But if the HCM is not 100% standard (which it never is), you got to implement some ABAP BADIs to modify the field contents.

However, - at least for this scenario - this won't be very complicated.

Hi Syed,

Not really, but if you have knowledge that would be an added advantage to handle things.

For Successfactor integration, we use standard content provided by SAP, only thing is you need to perform the configuration part along with Adapter modules as suggested by the SAP documents.

The major issues that raise while success factor integration is network and connectivity.

In some specific cases, when I SAP PI is not able to process the data, SAP provided a program to download the data from HCM system and will directly integrate with Successfactor system. In this case, if you have a bit of ABAP knowledge would greatly help you.
