Fiori Timesheet approval app without workflow

Hello Friends,

One of the clients planning to go for Fiori app implementation and they are Timesheet entry & Timesheet Approval.

For Timesheet approval, they don't use workflow at all for the managers to approve subordinates timesheet. Instead, they use structural authorizations and use TCode "CAPP" to approve time sheets in ECC. They use both A002 & A012 relationships and Managers will approve time sheets for all employees in the org unit and subsequent org units.

My questions here is without workflow and just by using Structural authorizations will standard Fiori timesheet approval app will work?

Or

Do we need to go for custom app?

Please let me know your opinion.

Hi Srikanth,

You can use the standard workflow template and set agent (approver) determination rule as you described in the workflow template.

Is there any issue for activation the workflow?

Hi Masa,

Thanks for the reply.  They are using the Timesheet approval without workflow (Std or Custom) and Managers approve based on Structural Authorization.

Now, we cannot ask them to use workflow and they just wanted to know, will Fiori Timesheet approval app will work based on the structural authorization they use and will all subordinates in the Org Unit and other direct reportees will show in the app or not.

Hi Srikanth,

Fiori approval apps read workitems from logon user inbox. It means workflow is required.

The structural authorization can be set in the agent determination which is a part of workflow template setting.
