Hi Saket,

The procedure for downgrading kernel is same as upgrading the kernel.

Kindly stop the system, execute cleanipc as sidadm, then take a backup of kernel 720 and empty your exe directory. Execute slibclean as root. Then from the backup of 700 kernel copy the executables to the exe directory.

Execute saproot.sh from root and then start the system.

You do not need to install SAPOSCOL. Like I said before it is part of the kernel files and will be started when you start SAP. You just need to make sure that there is a file called saposcol in the kernel set.

Hi All,

I have one more question appending to this :

We delete SAP OSCOLL when we upgrade to Kernel 720 as Kernel 720 dont require as per my knowledge and now we are reverting back to Kernel 700, so how to reinstall SAP OSCOLL at the time of degradation???

saposcol is part of the kernel for older releases of kernel.

In the newer kernel releases SAP Hostagent provides the saposcol program.

There is no SAP note confirming that you can go back to the old kernel release.

Hi Saket,

Stop SAP

Please take backup of 720 kernel and re-copy the 700 kernel into the kernel directory.

start SAP

hello,

if kernel 700 is compatible with your release then yes. Question is why do you want to do this?

### Note that SAP recommends to update the 700 kernel to 720 as 700 kernel is already out of support.
