flat file IDoc

Can anyone please let me know what is flat file IDoc and how can we generate a flat file IDoc from an IDoc with out using abap mapping ?

hi,

it's quite easy :

create a file port in SAP (we21) and set outbound IDOC for it

and it will create flat file IDOC

port types (also file) are described in my book:

Michal,

I read your book about the flat file part. But I have one question to you about the difference between IDoc in flat file format and in XML format.

If IDoc is sent to the file port, the segment name is called E2Exxxxx, and

if the IDoc is sent to a logical system port, the segment name is called E1Exxxx.

Do you know why such a different?
