Move SAP ECC standalone system to High Availability cluster environment.

Hi,

I have requirement to move SAP ECC stand alone system to cluster environment.

OS - MS server 2003

DB - Oracle 10

What steps need to follow to perform this activity?

What down time required?

Please Help.

Please share source and target details.

Also, if your source and target OS are same, then you can install PAS on a new machine and connect this with the database.

Target OS /DB - Windows Server 2008/ Oracle 11 G

Current SAP ECC version is 5.0 and over all size in 600 GB.

Could you please brief about PAS installation an connection with database? If I keep target OS DB same.

I believe you can use homogeneous system copy for building you new CI(PAS) and DI(AS)'s can be installed directly on new servers. You have to take care of OS data which will we same for new system also, for eg, trans, host and services files etc.

And yes, time cannot be estimated verbally.

It all depends on system resources and not much data needs to be replicated, if you keep your database on same old host. ( which I have assumed in all my replies)

Perform this test of sandbox system to get ideas on issue and time that it takes, and then you can get a fair idea on the time required.

1. You have to perform SAP Homogeneous system copy method from soure to target

2. Before that check the PAM you present version supported Windows 20008 / Oracle 11 G?
