SQL BACKUP AND RESTORE

Hi Friends,

We are planing to do system copy with Production backup to New test system ,My db is smssql 2005,after system copy we are planing to upgrade database and after that DB compression .

Please let me confirm below points.

1)How to do system copy?Procedure

2)I need to use onlineback or offline backup for restoration

3)Which tool i need to use for system copy?

If the both system are OS /DB are same you can follow the SAP Homogeneous system copy method.

Yes you can take the backup online and restore the same backup to target system

3) Which tool i need to use for system copy?

You can use  the SWPM refer the SCN link

Before upgrade the DB pls check your prerequisite SAP support packages
