MSMP Limitation - One end request email for all request types

Former Member

Hello,

Is anyone aware if we can have one final, end of path,  or end of request notification for one request type. It seems that the end of path (with badi applied note 1738377) and end of request notifications are universal for all types of requests. Thoughts? Thanks!!!

For instance, if you want to create a notification very specific to new users and a different one for change users, it seems that is not possible as the end of request is controlled in a global way.

The end of path badi, allows a end of path notification but it also uses the same document for all request types...

I'm on GRC AC10 SP14

Thanks in advance!

Hi

You can create a "Approved" notification to be sent out at the last stage of the path, and apply the custom messages to that notification per respective last stage/path.

However, if you are planning to use the %PROVISIONING% or %PROVISIONING_WITHOUT_PASSWORD% variable within any of these custom notifications, it only seems to work in the notifications sent out at the end of the request/ AR Close set up in the Global section (screen 1 in MSMP).

There is a note at the end of the SAP note that describes this limitation:

Remark: Class CL_GRFN_MSMP_BADI_END_OF_PATH implements following logic:

At end of each path of Access Request, workflow email will be sent to msmp agent GRAC_USER using template GRAC_AR_CLOSE

Hope that helps.

Hi Harinam,

Thanks for the input. Yes it seems that the limitation comes from both ends . At the end of request in global setup and for the badi specified in your thread. It doesn't allow you to choose a template for a request type.

This is a limitation for us as new users usually receive a welcoming message with specific instructions when access is provisioned (specifying password details). Change users do not. So in out testing, all users get the same welcoming message.

Thanks again,

Gustavo

Hi Gustavo,

We also have same situation.

We have notification settings separate for New Account, Change Account etc. New account is separate path and Change account is separate path.

For New Account - APPROVED notification will have custom message for password along with another message that "PROVISIONING DETAILS WILL BE SENT IN SEPARATE MAIL"

For Change Account - APPROVED notification will not have custom message for password along with another message that "PROVISIONING DETAILS WILL BE SENT IN SEPARATE MAIL"

End of the request will have provisioning variable in the template.

Only issue is users receive 2 closing notifications and our client agreed for it

Regards,

Sai.
