How to use moving average without showing some previous value

Former Member

I'm working on a report to show the gross margin with an moving average of the last 4 quarters. I want to hide the first 3 quarters' value to avoid the confusion. But it doesn't work by using the filter function, as the moving average will be re-calculated starting with the first quarter after my filter. Could you please advise any way to do it? Thanks!

Hi,

I tried this too and I get your point.  Yes, it's correct that the moving average is taken from the origin.

- what you are trying to do, is hide (mask) part of the X-axis (time axis)

I tried to do this in an infographic, but could not achieve the formatting requirement. I also tried to change the axis scale (set axis scale) but this was only possible for the Metric (y-axis)

I feel this would make a useful enhancement . I have added your feedback to this open (accepted) enhancement request which already exists for this functional requirement: Charts Scaling and Properties Issue : View Idea  <- please add your vote

Regards,

H
