hi experts can anyone explain what process runs in back ground when we execute startsap in NW 7.3?

You should check the logs files generated for startsap and in work directory of DI and SCS.

Basically database is check and started, profiles are read, process at os level are started, kernel is synchronised, buffer and memory structure are created, so instances are standard connected with database.
