Content Repository is not in Running status

Former Member

Hi everyone,

We have installed a content server4.6 ,we created a content repository through oac0 t-code . It was working fine till yesterday, i mean the status of the content repository is Running, suddenly today when we saw the status of the content repository its not in Running status, it is showing as data(28%),log(74%).

All the configurations are fine, we haven't change anything in the configuration.

Please suggest me with your valuable information.

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Praveen

Hi Praveen,

Please check the status from CSADMIN and start from there if required.

Hi Praveen,

1) Are you able to check-in the originals in content server?

2) Have you carried out the backup strategy for data and log(Automatic backup)? If not, you need to carryout the backup manually and set automatic backup once the log is full.

Ravi

Hi Praveen,

As you mentioned that you can see data area as well as log area for MaxDB, it implies DB is running.

in CSADMIN , you can select button start under STATUS tab .

If possible perform clean stop and start of MaxDB instance + content server services.

Also share screenshot of OAC0 test connection and CSADMIN "status tab"

Hi Praveen,

From the second screen shot, click on change button and then use the lock symbol to start/ stop content repository.

From 2nd screenshots we can see that content repository has status running and connection test is fine.

What is the issue you face ?

Hi Praveen,

I do not see any issue with Content server.

You may try to upload a new document and check whether it can be retrieved or not.

Hi Praveen,

Refer below SAP note for content server backup strategy.

319332 - Content Server backup strategies

And you need backup tool 'Database Manager (DBMGUI)' for this.

Hi Guys

Working on migration MaxDB and SAP CS from Win2003 - > Win 2008

new: MaxDB 7.9.08.36  + SAP CS 6.5

old: MaxDB 7.5.00.32 + SAP CS 6.3

Migration done and recovery/restore as well without any major issues.

SAP CS configured as well, xuser managed, IIS persmissions set, odbcdriver registred , connection and certificates working fine.

Even repositor in OAC0 is running fine but after restart of service or DB / server repositor change the status to defined and I have to start it manually.

Any clue idea about it? I already open SAP CALL message so we will see.

It is really critical issue to had status of repository in defined or is a mandatory tu be running?

When is in status defined report RSCMST via se38 giving HTTP errors.

In another database instance repositories working fine and running even after restart.

thanks for any advice/hint.

Hi,

Yes, The issue is because of the chache server and MaxDB.

Please check the below notes.

followed the below notes

notes 658442 , 514500, 698915 and 301352,851146,

& 977091 .

DMS ERROR HTTP - 500 | SCN

HTTP error: 500 (Internal Server Error)  "... | SCN

The main issue is only in establishing the connections to content server due to some components i beleive.

Rgds,

Nayeem.

Hi Praveen,

Check for Content storage area connection with created DMS repository as well as with CSADM. I hope that these settings captured in single Transport request.

There is no issue with repository status  is running or defined . both are same.

Chandu.
