Hi Gurus,

1. How does the APO planning book time granularity(ex day, week, etc) effects the performance of livecache..what is the best way to suggest the correct time granularity to be used..

2. what is the advantage of having a separate planning book/data view for the batch macros..why can't we use the normal planning book macros(assigned to the planners) for the batch macro jobs?

Please share your ideas.

Regards,

Sharath

Hi Sharath,

APO Planning Book Time Granularity generally based on your planning timeline. In general terms;-

1) APO Demand Planning (is called long term planning): It time ranges from Month to Years.

Generally we are using Month Planning for DP.So we can say that in cased of DP Planning Book it is preferable to use Planning Book in Month Format.

2) APO Suplly Network Planning (is called mid level Planning) : Its time ranges generally from week to month. In general for the case of SNP Planning we are using Weekly Planning Book and we are considering lot sizes,t lanes, quota aarrangement parameters while doing the planning.

If i am correctly undesrtanding you are talking about collective macros(or batc macros).Advantage of using collective macro is you can define the sequence of the macros to be run in one go by running only one background job.You need not run each macro job as an individual.

Hope i have clarify you on your points.
