Barcode Parse Activity for Linear Barcode

Dear Experts,

I would like to utilize linear barcode for finding components. Is there any way to use barcode parser activity for Find Component Barcode in CT500?

In the how-to-s, I found config possibilities for 2D barcodes. But I do not want to use custom assembly data types. I would just like to use the find component barcode, but to parse the linear barcode from the scanner.

Would it be possible to misuse the barcode parser from 2D barcodes for linear barcodes?

According to Barcode Scanning How-To Guide :

'Other than connecting a barcode scanning device to the client PC, no setup is required for the use of linear barcode scanning with SAP ME.'
