I understood what is Time selection partitioning and what is the significance of hot and cold data. Can any one give me an example on how can i partition a table using this and how can i mark my table entries as either hot or cold.
I read somewhere that an application developer can mark table entries as hot or cold and query the table based on the partition . It will be really helpful for me if any one can give me some simple examples on how it is done? Thanks in advance.
Hey Vijayan
please check Data Aging - SAP Library about that.
For the time being this functionality is only available for SAP Netweaver developments and not for pure SAP HANA applications.
Since the application has to manage the data categorization into hot/cold, part of the functionality is provided in the ABAP framework.
