Logical system same in DEV/QAS/PRD for ALE

Hi friends,

We haven't used ALE but now need to set it up. Problem is, DEV and QAS are copies of PRD so all three have the same logical system name. I read about how using bdls to rename the logical system can create inconsistencies and am worried it can ruin our transport system.

Appreciate your comments, thanks & best regards.

Claudio

Hi Claudio

1. After completion of system copy have you completed the post system copy activity?

2. Once again reconfigure the Transport Management system

Thanks for your advice friends.

Yes Sriram, the DEV refresh is from April so TMS was reconfigured since it is the domain.

Will proceed with bdls and reset TMS.

Kind regards,

Claudio

If you have taken the export of Logical systems and partner profiles.

Import them and then run BDLS.

If, you don't have the export. Look into SCC4 and recreate Logical systems and set partner profiles. The run BDLS.

If you transporting logical system names from development till production, then run BDLS.

If you are configuring ALE for 1st time - then no issues

Using BDLSS in comaprsion to BDLS - logical systems can also be converted remotely in all partner system.

Hallo,

we run BDLS after every system refresh (e.g. copy PRD to QAS) and never had any issues with it.

Also, no issues with the transport system.

Actually we had more issues when we didn't run BDLS and tried to fix parts manually.

Hence, in general I would certainly recommending running BDLS after refreshing a system from PRD (including DEV).

Thomas
