RTL Replication from ASE to IQ

Have few queries on Real Time Loading using Sybase Replication,

- Is there any best practice document for RTL setup and configuration?

- Any plans to include parallel DSI feature or parallel insert location on same table through DSI? As for me order of inserts/commits does not matter here.

On my setup I have 100 parallel threads runing bulkcopy operation on same table in ASE. Insert volume is quite high, few hundreds of million records. For example, my 100K rows insert on a table consumes CDB size of approx 800MB. What I observed is forming data structure in CDB is bottleneck in the whole system. I have tried multipe CDB by splitting large transaction compilation in CDB, which helps to increase throughput by 10%. As ASE is getting data in 100 paralle threads, where as DSI on IQ is serial which is coping up with my transaction rate.

If anyone has setup high volume RTL and could shed some details, would be much helpful.

I am not sure from which version of Repserver supports parallel DSI with RTL. I have just upgraded to SP202 to enable paralel DIST which was introduced in SP200 release. I tried a parallel DSI as well and it works like charm!!!

SAP Sybase has really done good job in Replication SP200. Finally I was able to scaleup Real Time Replication setup for Sybase IQ.
