Hi Experts,

I am going to buy a DELL inspiron 3537 15 inches 4th Gen. i3 -4010 U processor, DOS operated RAM - 8GB, HDD - 750 GB or 1 TB.

I need to install latest SAP IDES version in this laptop (both type of access, directly from laptop or Virtual/Remotely).

Does DOS operated system supports SAP IDES installation?

Can we install SAP IDES on Windows 8.1 or DOS is mandatory?

Kindly suggest at earliest as I need to buy it by today or tomorrow.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Sandeep

Dear Sandeep

on windows 8.1 we are not able to install sap exports bcaz win 8.1 is operating system but we need server operating system to install sap which are window 2003,2008,2012 if you purchase win 8.1 license version you have to format whole laptop and license version will be of not use

there is option if you want run you sap on VMWARE  (virtual machine) then it possible that you can use it on win 8.1 laptop bcaz vmvare open new operating system on existing win 8.1

Thanks

Thanks Rajendra. This information will help me to act accordingly.

It means, I need to work with VMWARE in case, I want to go for Windows 8.1. Otherwise, I can install SAP IDES with Server operating system Window 2012.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks Martina and Bernd also for your response.

Regards,

Sandeep

I am not sure, whether SAP IDES is really possible on Windows 8.1 or not.

Does SAP IDES support to Windows 8.1?

Thanks,

Hi Sandeep,

have you been looking into SAP Note http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1761605 or http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1788279?

Hi Sandeep,

I think windows 8.1 is not supported by SAP IDES ECC 6.0. You have to check in PAM (Product Availability Matrix) http://service.sap.com/pam the concrete version you want to install.

Martina
