Have you uninstalled the old database version.

Remove all registry entries and try again

Hi Sam

1. Windows User id  which your are running the SAP installation is part of local administrator group?

2. if possible do the full restart and then try the same phase

Your system has references to your OLD DB installation. Clear every thing. From file, directories to registry.

Hi Sam,

Better would be to re-install OS if these entries are not deleting even with admin rights.

Always better, prepare windows again and install sap.

Hi Divyanshu,

Is there any another way by which we can remove db2 apart from re installing windows.

Thanks,

Sam

Yes, it's possible. But then it will take more than and better would be to re-install

Hi Divyanshu,

If you can explain those steps without reinstalling windows, that would be great.

Thanks,

Sam

You will have to clear your registry. Every possible entry in registry need to be cleared.

Also, you can delete or rename old media left of DB2 on your system, but the registry need to be cleaned. And this takes huge time as their are so many location that are marked to be clean.

Hi Samson,

The problem could also be because of the path length or your drive/directory name. As in such cases, truncation of path takes places, and such error is thrown.

Something new for me to learn

And yes, don't run from dvd drive or mounted disc.
