Hi
I heard about SAP is going to release Solution Manager 7.2 in 2015. Is this true? Anyone has information about the same like release date, about new features available with Solution Manager 7.2 version. I tried to google it but unfortunately unable to find the information.
Best regards.
Shirish.

SP3 is to be released in August (week 31) I believe SP3 will be the GA release version.
But you can get it now with SP2 if you join early adopter care program (aka ramp-up)
Hello, the plan is to release SAP Solution Manager 7.2 SP03 to all customers in mid-August, but we cannot guarantee this date, as much depends on the feedback from customers in the Early Adopter Care (Ramp-Up) program. In the meantime, I recommend checking out the SAP Solution Manager 7.2 SP02 with S/4HANA Best Practice content available in the SAP Cloud Appliance Library (http://cal.sap.com). This system also contains a sample project plan that was downloaded from the Roadmap Viewer (https://roadmapviewer-supportportal.dispatcher.hana.ondemand.com//#)
https://support.sap.com/solution-manager/processes/maintenance-management/maintenance-planner.html
Released for end user.
You can find the SolMan 7.2 in maintenance planner since this morning.
Hi Christoph,
Sorry for question, is this Solman 7.2 for any database? or we need to migrated to HANA eventually to use it for Production environment.
Also Do you have any wiki or scn where we can ask further more related with upgrade to Solman 7.2 including migration HANA or some information like to confirm is it true HANA for SOLMAN 7.2 is free?
Thanks a lot.
Regards,
Achmad
Try this SCN entry. Very interessting - but just for first Installation - no upgrade.

And yes, Solution Manager 7.2 is anyDB. You can Oracle, MSSQL, HANA and so on.
And as I know, there is a free license for HANA DB usage.

Hello,
I can indeed see the SAP Solution MAnager 7.2 binaries now, but I have two questions :
Regarding the Support package equivalence of SAP Solution MAnager 7.2 SR1 : those binaires have been uploaded on May 2016 . Is it Solman 7.2 SP3 ...
Regarding Willy Introspcope Manager, I went through some sap notes and it appears that Willy Introscope Manager 10.1 is not yet visible on the sap support portal
Do you know when , it would be released ?
Thanks
Raoul
Hello ,
Thanks for your answer ... but I just checked again, and it is not here
As per SAP note 2285189, Willy Introscope MAnager 10.1 and Willy Introscope MAnagement Modules should be available.
Currrently ,only Willy introscope Module is available :
Is there anyone else who could confim or deny by using his S-user account ?
Thank you
Hello Raoul,
This is product bug and I have high priority message open with SAP from last 2 and haf week and their development team working to fix this issue.
If you try to upgrade your solution manager 7.2 SR 1 to SPS03 through maintanance optimizer its not picking correct upgrade stack files.
Regards,
Yogesh
Hello Yogesh,
Actually, I used the Maintenance Planner to generate the XML file ...as far as I understand it , the days of the MOPZ are definitely gone with SOL 7.2. (And it is a good news , always throwing errors, or generating inconsitent queus, files)
I just finished updating abap and java systems to SP03.
It went fine.
Thanks and Regards
Hello Yogesh,
It turns out that after upgrading though MAintenance planner to SAP Solution Manager 7.2 SPS03 ... I was still on SAP Solution Manager 7.2 SPS02 !
For some weird reasons, most of the Support Packages are not being picked up by the MAintenanced planner, even though there are no errors or discrepencies in system replication ...
Are you running into the same issue ?
Thanks
Hi Raoul,
Did you select SAP_UI 750 during stack generation. SPS03 is based on SAP_UI 750 and it has to be selected manually (as described in stack 03 note). If you do not select SAP_UI then queue calculation can go wrong which turns out as not calculating or removing the stack files from final calculated queue.
PS: It would be much better to create a new thread of your own than posting all issues in 1 thread which is already closed or marked as answer.
Regards,
Gaurav
Hello all:
I have created a new announcement post with the attached link to download the latest presentation and training file for the SAP Solution Manager 7.2 in CAL. We expect the system to be released very soon.

Its in Ramp-Up so I doubt anybody can answer that with a firm answer. Release dates on PAM always seem to move for any SAP product.
You can get early access now by applying here... https://influence.sap.com/SAPSolutionManager72
Hello everyone:
We plan to release SAP Solution Manager 7.2 in the Cloud Applicance Library this month. The appliance is being finalized now. It will be SAP Solution Manager 7.2 SP01 on SAP HANA, with a focus on allowing customers and partners to test-drive the solution documentation activation process and then experience the new solution documentation UI in the 7.2 system. This will be a 90-day trial solution for non-productive use.
In the future additional scenarios will be available and the system can be extended past 90 days with the purchase of a CAL subscription.

Hello, in December SAP is planning to make SAP Solution Manager 7.2 on support package stack 01 available as a free trial solution in the Cloud Applicance Library (CAL), more infomation is at https://cal.sap.com. The system will be build on Linux OS/HANA DB and will allow evaluation of the new solution documentation area. We will provide some sample projects based on our rapid-deployment solutions content, as well as an opportunity for customers to upload their own projects as transports to activate and view in the new UI.
In short, we create a master 7.2 SP01 system, save it as a 'solution' in the CAL solution catalog, and any user with an SCN account can create a CAL account and link an exisiting Amazon Web Services account to provide the infrastructure. You will log into your CAL homepage, select "SAP Solution Manager 7.2", and then the system will be copied to your AWS account segment and be ready in around 1 hour. You can then log onto the system and evaluate the documentation, for a small hourly fee to Amazon.
You are the owner and administrator of the system, you can perform backups and make changes, and use it for training as well. The system can also be suspended when not in use to save costs. It's very flexible and fast, and we estimate that this will be very popular as you can create an evaluation system quickly and cheaply.
Hi Shirish,
because SAP Solution Manager 7.2 will be based on SAP CRM 7.03, we just need to look at the release notes of CRM 7.02 + 7.03 to find out which new features will be available in SAP Solution Manager 7.2. Of course there will be a lot of features which are not based on SAP CRM, but expecially SAP Solution Manager IT Service Management and Change Request Management will benefit from the new SAP CRM 7.0 Enhancement Packages 2 and 3.
The SAP Solution Manager Product Roadmap already informs us about some of these features. But however some features will never be mentioned by SAP Product Management because of several reasons.
If you want to get knowledge of all "hidden" CRM Features, you have to review the SAP CRM release notes or my summary:
http://www.hybrid-eichhoernchen.de/sap-solution-manager-7-2-itsm-charm-features/
Kind regards,
Peter

Correct Q4 2015, (which has already moved twice now) but I doubt they will even hit that date.
My understanding is it will now run on HANA (maybe other DBs but push is HANA for free) and no more dual stack...so major changes

Hello Chris:
SAP Solution Manager 7.2 entered customer validation in Q1 2015, the current plan is for ramp-up to start in Q4.
SAP HANA will be an option, but other databases will be supported as well. SAP HANA will be included in the usage rights for the platform, so no additional license fees will be necessary. We will be separating the ABAP and Java stacks during the upgrade process, so that we are more in line with the global SAP stack strategy.
We have updated the product roadmap presentation on the SAP Solution Manager homepage (http://support.sap.com/solutionmanager) with this new version:
The presentation at the /roadmaps site will also be updated as well with similar content.
