SLDAPICUST is fine and SLDCHECK is also fine but getting one error:

"Functional call returned exception code 3"

"Access to XI Profile currently disrupted.

is this error belongs to solution manager 7.1 or for PI system.

can u please guide me how to trouble shoot this error. following are the screen shots. points are rewarded.

thanks in advance.

Hi Shail,

Business systems are maintained in PI. For connecting SLD with solman for doing managed system configuration, you should do this in solman_setup - sync your SLD from there. Don't use SLD check for this. Before that, check your SLD is running.

Which system in your landscpae you want to make as central SLD?

Also, configure local SLD from solman_setup, system preparation, prepare landscape.

hi,

thanks for quick reply.

yes SLD is running.

I want to make solution manager sld as central sld for all the managed systems.

so this error:

"Functional call returned exception code 3"

"Access to XI Profile currently disrupted.

does not belong solution manager.

"Functional call returned exception code 3"

"Access to XI Profile currently disrupted.

does it belongs to solution manager 7.1 or PI systems.

does solution manager 7.1 have XI profile?

pls guide me I am new to solman.

Hi Sahil,

If you want to use solution manager SLD as central SLD then you have to setup SLD bridge as you must be having PI SLD in your landscape.

Also, setup local SLD in Solman as told before. Once the SLD bridge is setup, all system registered in PI SLD will come in Solman SLD and system which tre not registed in PI SLD can be registered directly to your solman SLD.

To setup forwarding, goto you PI SLD and add Solman SLD

Choose administration -> data suppliers and click the Add SLD button.

Enter the appropriate input values:

Under URL, enter http://<solmanhost>:5<instanzce number>00.

Under User, enter the SLDDSUSER.

Under Password, enter the password of the SLDDSUSER.

3.the managed systems are not yet registered. I have only one managed system that is ECC which I have to configure.

To setup forwarding, goto you PI SLD and add Solman SLD

Hi Sahil,

1st.

To setup forwarding(SLD bridge)
, goto you PI SLD and add Solman SLD

Choose administration -> data suppliers and click the Add SLD button.

Enter the appropriate input values:

Under URL, enter http://<solmanhost>:5<instanzce number>00.

Under User, enter the SLDDSUSER.

Under Password, enter the password of the SLDDSUSER.

2nd. Do you have PI/XI systems in your landscape ?

If yes, use above process(1).

If not, then setup SLD in solman.from t-code solman_setup goto system preparation step prepare landscape. prepare local SLD.

3rd. 1st systems in your landscape like ECC, PI, BW etc registered in SLD, the SLD in synced with LMDB, then we do managed system configuration.

PI sld can be opened using URL http://<pihostname>:5XX00/sld.

thanks for your reply divyanshu,

1. I don't have PI system in my landscape.

2. yes I already setup SLD in solman by SOLMAN_SETUP.

3. 1st systems in your landscape like ECC, PI, BW etc registered in SLD.

how ECC, PI, BW registered in my SLD, I do not have ECC, PI, BW systems?

4. as I don't have PI system, SLD is opening by using URL http://<solmanhostname>:5XX00/sld.

5. in system preparation I am in 6.2 prepare outside discovery

     step-- activity-- connect diagnostic agent------

     after open java URL

as I am using solman SLD, what details I need to provide.

and how should I connect diagnostic agent?

pls guide me step by step as per my screen shots. following are the screen shots.

thanks a lot divyanshu for ur assistance.

Hi Sahil,

Here are your answers;

1. I don't have PI system in my landscape.

No problem, as you are using solman's local SLD.

2. yes I already setup SLD in solman by SOLMAN_SETUP.

So now, you can use this SLD as Central SLD for your landscape.

3. 1st systems in your landscape like ECC, PI, BW etc registered in SLD.

how ECC, PI, BW registered in my SLD, I do not have ECC, PI, BW systems?

To register system in SLD use:

RZ70 for ABAP stack

VA or NWA to configure target SLDs

Dual Stack - use both options

4. as I don't have PI system, SLD is opening by using URLhttp://<solmanhostname>:5XX00/sld.

SLD is a part of every JAVA stack. Solution Manager is ABAP+JAVA dual stack, so SLD is working.

5. in system preparation I am in 6.2 prepare outside discovery

     step-- activity-- connect diagnostic agent------

     after open java URL

as I am using solman SLD, what details I need to provide.

and how should I connect diagnostic agent?

pls guide me step by step as per my screen shots. following are the screen shots.

To connect diagnostic agent, 1st the agents should be installed on every system in your landscape. After that you have to register those agents in solution manager.

For all above you can refer:

thanks for quick reply.

so here I need to install the agents. ok,

1.     so SYSTEM PREPARATION - step 6.2 PEPRAE OUTSIDE DISCOVERY should be      perrformed          after the installation of diagnostic agent and host agent on managed systems?

2. is this step CONNECTING diagnostic agent used to connect managed system diagnostic agent to solution manager SLD or solution manager diagnostic agent to SLD?

3. don't I need to connect solution manager diagnostic agent to solution manager SLD (central sld)?

because by default solution manager system has default diagnostic agent by installation.

I am very much thankful for your replies.

For now just consider, diagnostic agent are your SMD agent.

In fact, most of the system might have diagnostic agents installed and solman too. But you have to connect them to solution manager system, and that is done using smdsetup script.

for that:

goto  usr/sap/<SID_AGT>/SMDAXX/script

smdsetup managingconf hostname:"sapms://solman.full.qual.host.name" port:"81XX" user:"SMD_ADMIN" pwd:"XXXXXXXX"

If agent are not installed than install them.

In every system they should be installed under user DAAADM and path /usr/sap/DAA.

thanks for reply.

1. so I have to connect solution manger diagnostic agent to solution manager SLD first, then managed systems diagnostic agent to solman SLD?

2. how to check whether diagnostic agent is installed or not?

thanks.

check for any directory such as DAA in /usr/sap or check user daaadm.

check sapmmc or best check your file system:)

You send your system information to SLD.

Diagnostic agents sends diagnostic data to solution manager.

Please don't interrelate SLD registration with Managed system configuration.

When you register any system in SLD you can see information such as system's component levels and this system is used to solution manager for the lifecycle of your system - for eg, generating stack files.

register your agent to using message server:

use script:

smdsetup managingconf hostname:"sapms://solman.full.qual.host.name" port:"81XX" user:"SMD_ADMIN" pwd:"XXXXXXXX"

thanks.

I know that I have to install diagnostic agent on all managed systems.

but my question is:

1. does diagnostic agent of solution manager needs to connect to solution manager sld?

2. does the diagnostic agent install on managed system before performing managed system configuration?

I hope u understood my question.

as I did not perform any activity on managed system and managed system is not yet installed.

I am in system preparation 6.2 stage that is CONNECT DIAGNOSTIC AGENT, where my solution manger diagnostic agent already available.

pls answer the first question where I have big confusion, whether diagnostic agent of solution manager needs connect to solution manager sld itsef? if yes why?
