Quick question folks,

It is possible to view the SM21 log without GUI access?  OS level perhaps?

Thanks

Hello Paul,

you can display syslog on OS level with rslgview program as described in the note:

712706 - Program RSLGVIEW - reading the SAP system log without system

Or you can read it also with sapcontrol command like this:

sapcontrol -nr NN -format script -function ABAPReadSyslog

with NN - instance number

Hello,

try to look at this document and you should find the file on the OS https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp2/helpdata/en/c7/69bcbaf36611d3a6510000e835363f/content.htm

But unfortunately it is not very easy to read. It should be encoded somehow...I do not know how.
