Control List of ALV Variants based on a parameter

Hi,

I need to control the ALV Variants based on a parameter which would be available at run time. Could any one please let me know how to control the list of ALV variants ( Values in Drop Down Box) dynamically.

I need to set the Default View [STANDARD_VIEW] by default. Could anyone help me here.

Thanks for the link, but it will not be of much use.  I need to control the list of Variants displayed in the Drop Down based on a parameter. It must be done while ALV is loaded for the first time but not on any user action. Can it be done in Webdynpro  ALV.

Yes, it can be done, you need to get the available layout variants for alv and based on the condition you can set the layout.
