Error in step Activate BW content for RCA

Hi Experts,

We have upgraded solution manager  7.1 system from SP06 to SP11.

Facing issue in

Solman_Setup -> Basic Configuration -> Configure Automatically -> Activate BW content for RCA.

This step is going to error and not showing any log details in screen.

also ccms_bi_setup job not getting scheduled in the system.

We have performed below steps already:

  • all previous steps completed sucesfully.
  • T-code: RSTCO_ADMIN: showing activation sucessful.
  • Also downloaded latest version for sap roles SAP_BI_E2E and SAP_SM_BI_PROCESS and assigned to user "solman_admin",which is used for performing solman_setup.

Please provide your inputs to resolve this issue.

What is your BW client ?

Is it same or other client in solution manager ?

Also, did you check the logs for this job in sm37.

And, refer 2022565 - Error in Basic Configuration > Step 6 Configure Automatically > Activity Enable Solution M...

Thanks for the update.

BW client same as solman client.

I have checked in SM37,there is no job getting triggered with name "CCMS_BI_SETUP".

2022565 - Error in Basic Configuration > Step 6 Configure Automatically > Activity Enable Solution M...

this note refers to error in another step which comes after "Activate BW content for RCA".

this task not yet executed as we got stuck in earlier step only.

Hi Kavitha,

1st check:

A logical system is assigned to the BW client

The RS_MANDT_UNIQUE_SET has run on the BW system with the correct client

Then,

Goto transaction RSA1.

Select the source system and, in the context menu, select Activate.

In the Replicate Metadata? dialog, select Replicate as Well.

If displayed, choose as 3.x Datasource, and confirm the message.

Then re-execute this activity in automatic configuration.

Also, check you have NONE rfc and it's blank plus working.

You said you applied the roles to user. Did you generate the profile and user comparison ? I know that sounds very basic, but at times we miss such small things.

Hi,

We have generated the profile and did user comparision as well and status is green.

Also logical system and RFC NONE exist and works fine.

I have already done activation along with replicate in RSA1, but issue remains same.

we are not getting any error details ....so there is no clue what is happening.

When execute this step . one background job starts "SMSETUP: DIAG_SM_BI_SETUP" and getting finished.

below is job log for this.

Job started

Step 001 started (program RAGS_SISE_ACTIVITY_JOB, variant &0000000000542, user ID SOLMAN_ADMIN)

Imported p_act_id:DIAG_SM_BI_SETUP

Imported p_sp:25D45C7EDB553AA28239056775FF3E2AA71B0122

Activate BW content for RCA started

DIAG_SM_BI_SETUP for system SMP~ABAP~100 ended

Job finished

But ccms_bi_setup not getting scheduled after this, step goes to error state.

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply.

Issue with user mentioned in RFC destination "SMPCLNT100" which is for solution manager/BW client(client:100).

user is locked so rfc was not workiing, we have unlocked this user and then CCMS_BI_SETUP job got scheduled.

Did you get this resolved?  I am facing the exact same issue after a SP11 upgrade.  Please share.

I have faced similar issue where the Activate BW Content for RCA was turning red.

Mine being a fresh install as a temporary workaround, I just gave SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW and the job got successfuly scheduled at the back end.

We have configured same client fpr SOLMAN and BI. So SOLMAN_ADMIN was being used as the the user for BI_SETUP.

The irony here is that there is no logs generated as to why the step was erroring out.  I have not been able to find the exact reason behind this. I verified that solman_Admin had role assigned to it and they had their profiles correctly generated.
