Error during open or create a model

Hello, I have the problem that I can not create or open a VC model. I get the error message

Row: 2671

Charachter: 1

Error: '_root' is null or no object

Code 0

Has anyone an idea?

thanks for your answers.

Unfortunately the problem still occurs.

There is a yellow exclamatory icon displayed in the lower left hand side of the browser.

I am using a host name in the adress bar and not the actual IP address as Manoj mentioned it.

Any more hints?

It appears to be a java script error in your browser. You could try to use another browser like mozilla/opera and check if it works there.

Hi Manoj,

Visual Composer requires Internet Explorer and doesn't work with Mozilla/opera.

If it is a java script error it will also occur on other browsers.

Yes, you are right! But sometimes, I have observed that using a different browser solved my problem. But it's not for this case, however.

Hi Holger,

Which version of Internet Explorer you are using? I solved similar issue in the below mehod.

If you are using <IE 6 SP2, Please upgrade it to IE 6 SP2.

if you are using IE 6 SP2, update your IE browser to IE 7 and apply the below patch.

Hi Holger

It could be a java script problem in your browser. Make sure that while you are using VC, there is no yellow exclamatory icon displyed in the lower left hand side of the browser.

If you see that icon, please check if you are using a host name in your address bar and not the actual ip address.

For example: the yellow icon might appear if you have http://10.10.24.10:50000/VC/default.jsp

In this case, you might have to make an entry in the hosts file under etc folder

say, nwserver 10.10.24.10

then use http://nwserver:50000/VC/default.jsp

This should solve the problem.
