Change logs for QA08

Hi Experts

I activate the inspection for the material by QA08.

The changes are not reflected in MM04(Display changes for material)

Where I can see the change details?(Date/Time/User made the changes)

Hello Arti

As the flag to create change documents wasn't activated you cannot track when the quality inspection was activated, but regarding the query your customer require I think you coul perform a seach of movements in the time you think master data was changed and through MB51 postings and movement types track changes in materials.

Sorry. No way to trace the change without change document.

I'm sure that transaction QA08 changes the QMAT table directly.

No. I don't have it.

FYI

In my experience I implemented the ALE interface for material master using IDoc.

At that time I found there was no change history in any table if you didn't set "change document".

No. I don't think such document would ever be released stating what cannot be done.

Set the indicator on for 'Create Change documents' while you perform transaction in QA08.

I need to find out on which date the inspection is setup for the material by QA08

I don't think change documents can be seen if the above indicator wasn't set while activating the inspection type.

I understand you now need to find the activation date and this was done via mass activation.

IMHO, you can't find them directly (or atleast I'm not aware of a way) but an ABAP person would surely make it for you.

I will explain the case...

1-PO created

2-GR Done

3-Material is posted to unrestricted stock

3-QM activation done by Quality dept by QA08(after the GR!!!)

Now there is queries from client.

1-Material is quality activated but how it is posted to unrestricted stock

2-There is no any change documents display in MM04 for the quality activation

We have the details for PO creation and GR details (Date,Time,User etc ) but don't have the details for QM activation for the material 🙂

I only know this because I once discussed this with my ABAP friend and he told me that such change documents can be traced easily. I never actually had a need to find one !!

Quantity was posted to UR because no inspection set up was done at the time of GR. Additionally, there is another option for posting the qty into QI, during GR only, in the absence of QM set up.

For your kind info, qty can be posted to unrestricted also even if QM set up is on. This is maintained in the material master by selecting/deselecting the option 'Post to inspection stock' against the corresponding inspection type.

There is lot more on this matter but your basic query, I guess, is resolved now.

And the answer remains same as well. Changes made by QA08 can be traced iff 'Create change documents' was set on.

Since, in your case, it wasn't set during the activation of inspection type, it cannot be traced.

As I earlier told, Try consulting ABAP help to see if something can be done.

Dear Aaarti,

Enter into 'QA08',

1. choose your option Assign insption type in activate inspection tab

2.select all material for those u want activate inspection

3. then click on save
