SAP Web Dispatcher Mutiple Instances on the Same Host - Admin URL Access

Dear Friends,

We have installed multiple SAP Web Dispatcher instances (WQ1-01 & WQ2-02) on the same host.

Is there a way, we can access both the instances using one Single Admin URL(Port)???

Out of curiousity , What was the reason to install 2 Instances of Web Dispatcher ?

SAP Web Dispatcher Version 720 Onwards , supports Connecting to Multiple SAP Systems .

Hello Ashish,

SAP Web Dispatcher has hard limitations, if we use End-to-End SSL Communication configuration.

Due to this reason, we have multiple SAP Web Dispatcher Instances on a single host.

Hi Sri,

The Admin URL Application binds to the HTTP port of the Web Dispatcher Instance.

So if you have 2 Instances on a Single Host , you will have to use 2 Ports to access the ADMIN URL for 2 Instances of Web Dispatcher.

I am aware of the two port local binding configuration.

As the both the instances are on the single node...My question is, Is there a way, we can access both the instances using one Single Admin URL(Port)???

Hey Sri,

Its not possible.

A work around is possible though.

Install another Web Dispatcher on another machine.

Configure the Web DIspatcher in such a way that

http://xyz.com/system1 -> will point to Web Dispatcher ADMIN URL for 1st Instance

http://xyz.com/system2 -> will point to Web Dispacther ADMIN URL for 2nd Instance

You will have to use the URL Rewrite Policy of the SAP Web DIspatcher.
